Meet Jessica Olson, LMSW-Clinical

Warm, trauma-informed therapy in Forsyth Township & online across Michigan. Equine-facilitated sessions in a nature-based setting.

Great to meet you!

Healing can happen in the office, online, or outdoors. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW-Clinical) who works with teens, adults, and families navigating challenges like anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and relationship struggles. I’ve been in the field of social work since 2006, and after earning my master’s degree in 2022, I expanded my practice to include clinical therapy.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people in a variety of settings and with many different populations, including mental health, developmental differences, substance use, crisis care, residential treatment, and justice-involved individuals. These experiences have helped me develop a flexible, compassionate approach, meeting each person where they are and honoring their unique journey.

I use tools like CBT, mindfulness, and somatic awareness, and I also offer Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy—a gentle, grounding way to connect, reflect, and gain insight. My work is guided by your needs, your pace, and what feels right for you in the moment.

In addition to my therapy practice, I teach in the Social Work Department at Northern Michigan University and regularly speak and train on mental health and wellness topics. These roles help me stay connected to new ideas and research so I can bring the best possible support to the people I work with.

Every session is designed to meet you where you are. You don’t need experience with horses or therapy—just a willingness to show up as yourself. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on for you, find clarity, and discover ways to move forward with more ease, confidence, and self-understanding.
